The Ultimate Heat Shield: Broilmaster BSASL Series Achieve a seamless, recessed look without compromising on safety. The Broilmaster Insulated Sleeve is the essential bridge between your premium grill and your custom island.

  • Zero-Clearance Protection: Acts as a specialized fire-wall between your grill head and combustible island structures.
  • Marine-Grade 304 Stainless Steel: Double-walled construction that resists warping and corrosion in the harshest outdoor environments.
  • Polished Aesthetic: Provides a clean, professional "trim kit" appearance that hides rough cutouts and adds a high-end finish to your masonry or woodwork.
  • Structural Integrity: Heavy-duty gauge steel supports the weight of your grill while maintaining its shape under high heat.

Pro-Tip for Installers:

  • Check Your Clearances: Even with an insulated sleeve, always maintain the manufacturer’s recommended clearance for the back of the grill to allow for proper airflow.
  • Ventilation is Vital: Remember that your island structure itself still requires proper venting (island vents) to prevent gas buildup, regardless of the insulated sleeve.
  • Measure Twice: The "Cutout Dimensions" for the sleeve are larger than the grill itself. Always wait to have the sleeve on-site before making your final cuts!
  • Always refer to your Broilmaster installation manual for specific cutout dimensions to ensure a perfect fit for your custom outdoor kitchen project.

Sleeve Safety & Installation: FAQ

1. Do I really need an insulated sleeve?

If your outdoor kitchen island is constructed from combustible materials—such as wood, composite, PVC, or plastic-based siding—the answer is yes. High-performance grills like the Broilmaster Stainless series generate significant heat. Without a "zero-clearance" sleeve, that heat can transfer to your island structure, leading to warping, charring, or a potential fire hazard.

2. My island is made of stone and steel. Do I still need one?

Technically, no. If your island is 100% non-combustible (e.g., steel studs with stone or brick veneer), an insulated sleeve is optional. However, many pros still install them because they provide a cleaner, more professional "trim" look and make the grill easier to remove for maintenance.

3. Does the sleeve change my cutout dimensions?

Yes. This is the most important part of your planning. The cutout for an insulated sleeve is larger than the cutout for the grill head alone. Always refer to the specific Sleeve Cutout Dimensions in your Broilmaster manual before your contractor cuts your countertop or framing.

4. Can I use a different brand’s sleeve for my Broilmaster grill?

We strongly advise against it. The Broilmaster BSASL series is precision-engineered to match the exact airflow and weight requirements of Broilmaster Stainless grills. Using a third-party sleeve can compromise safety and may void your grill’s warranty.

5. Does this sleeve protect the back of my house?

The sleeve protects the island the grill sits in. It does not replace the need for proper clearance between the grill and any combustible back walls. Always ensure you follow the "Clearance to Combustibles" guidelines for the rear and sides of your grill.
